We are building upon the strategic foundation to continue to provide resources, revenue streams, and guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs. EEWi will launch an Interactive Resource Map (IRMa) for collaborators, mentors and entrepreneurs.
IRMa will track the process of each entrepreneur unique needs-based resource development.
Sharon Johnson
Chief Engagement Officer (CEO)
Economic Empowerment Wisconsin(EEWi) is excited to announce Sharon Johnson as their President and Chief Engagement Officer (CEO).


Sharon is a graduate of Purdue University and earned her MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School District. Her diversity in careers includes sales and product management with Kraft Foods, real estate sales with Veridian Homes, and program management and consulting with the State of Wisconsin. She served on the boards of Nuestro Mundo Community School, Access Community Health Center, and currently serves as the President of Madison Network of Black Professionals (MNBP).

Her project management, communication, and organizational
leadership skills provides a solid track record to operate effectively in this innovative and fast growing company. Sharon is looking forward to sharing her experiences and perspectives from her different roles working in private and public sectors as well as being an entrepreneur. Her dedication to family and community has prepared her to be able to hear and fill the gaps identified by entrepreneurs and to help change the narrative around business ownership to policy and legislative.

Eric Steven Upchurch II is an entrepreneur, strategic development consultant, community activist, educator and researcher.

He is the Chief Visionary at Opportunity Inc. – creating success through collaboration, Founder of WOKESessions.com and The Movement Fund, Founding Organizer for the Young Gifted and Black Coalition, The Council of Communities, Economic Empowerment Wi, and the Madison Alliance for Black Economic Empowerment.


Recognized as one of Madison 365’s “The Most Influential Black Leaders in Wisconsin,” Eric helps leaders increase their impact and wellbeing through collaboration, innovation, mindfulness and relationship building. Eric leans on lesson failures, accomplishments, embarrassments, knowledgeable advice, and a deep spiritual awareness in experience to move through the world with love as a global citizen and father to Messiah Amun – delivering variety of trainings From conflict resolution and business development to mindfulness and meditation.
